Hello all,
I know it’s been a minute but wanted to touch base to let you know all is good and a lot has been happening.
First, I’ve had a blast seeing everyone at my performances this year. Can you believe the holidays are once upon us?
It’s been another busy and productive year as I have had a wonderful opportunity to be included in a new Christmas animated movie entitled, “Glisten and the Merry Mission”, which will be in theaters beginning November 3, 2023, and is produced by Build-A-Bear Entertainment in collaboration with Cinemark. I was able to voice one of the characters and had a fabulous time!
I also had a very fulfilling and enlightening experience being a guest on the PBS show, “Finding Your Roots” which will begin airing in January 2024. There’s nothing like learning about your own history.
As you know, I like to celebrate my birthday all month in December, and I can’t think of a better time to be honored and recognized by the Kennedy Center Awards! I am extremely humbled and thrilled to receive this award. I have heard many of you have voted for me in the past and I thank you for all of your efforts and support!
I’m happy to report I am still in the throws of completing my new CD, “Songs of Inspiration” and look forward to getting this out to you in the new year. One of the singles, where I was able to duet with my son, Damon Elliott, entitled, “I kneel”, has already been released and I’m so very proud of it!
